Robert Anton Wilson once said that we have created this safety net we call reality and every once in a while we are reminded that a very real existential world exists and that the spooky actions we see are all part of some quantum theory that is not easily explained.
There have been many occasions where we have been told the universe we live in is a construct, a safe haven that we have developed to hide away from the various demons and bogeymen that plague our nightmares.
In my business, I have learned there are many things that lurk in the shadows. For most people, shadowy figures appear just in the corner of the eye, which leaves you with the idea that you must be seeing things. We have all had some sort of fleeting encounter with shadowy figures hiding just outside the normal field of vision; familiar shapes typically are seen lurking in the dead of night in the corner of a room, peering from behind a tree or around a corner.
On the supernatural side of the argument, we can assume that these shadowy figures are spirits, miasmas, or even shadow people. However, there is yet another area of study where the shadowy figures are not always wispy entities playing hide and go seek with your mind.
The study of monsters and crypto creatures has always been downplayed as a field where investigators are out to find a creature that might exist. There are experts who also investigate the possibility that some of these creatures are supernatural in nature or are the product of some rogue manifestation.
It is common knowledge that in shadows lurk monstrosities and souls filled with evil intent. Creatures exist that crawl form the shade, and many have been mentioned as they that live in the shadow world or they crawl out of the bowels of the abyss to attack human beings in their sleep.
This abyss, is much darker, more ominous than the Prime Material Plane. It is filled with a diverse population of creatures of its own creation or from various other planes both fair and foul.
True believers know that these creatures are called the “blood feeders” and they take on my different descriptions.
For the longest time they wait for their moment.
Their moment to strike.
Last August, there was report that at the end of July, 2019 authorities were called in to investigate the death and mutilation of five bulls on a remote Eastern Oregon ranch.
The bulls, worth about $7,000 each, were found dead and mutilated, with genitals and tongues cut out on Silvies Valley Ranch in Harney County.
Two carcasses were discovered July 30. On July 31, three more carcasses were found. The cause of death was a mystery.
We reported the event and invited Linda Moulton Howe on the show since she is an award-winning documentary writer and director of the film, Strange Harvest, all about cattle mutilations she is well-known for her conclusions that these attacks on animals are performed by extraterrestrials.
Then January of this year, we reported that on December 22nd, there was a report out of El Paso County Colorado that 30 head of cattle were found dead in a grizzly display of mutilated carcasses that were peppered across the rural landscape.
Dr. John Heikkila of Choice Veterinary Service examined the animals and said that elevated levels of nitrates were found in at least one bale of hay eaten by the cattle.
It was determined that the cattle were poisoned—the farmer disagreed and Linda Moulton Howe appeared on Ground Zero to explain that the cattle were attacked by some sort of apex predator – she also spoke again about the extraterrestrial element to the story.
Attacks on farms especially cattle mutilations are a grisly affair. The pictures speak volumes, the loss to the farm is devastating and farmers are left wondering if they have fallen victim to some satanic plot or something supernatural.
Recently a report out of Mexico is now reporting that farms have been under attack and that livestock are being mutilated and their blood is being drained of their carcasses.
Worried farmers have reported a spate of deadly attacks on livestock at night since Christmas day at the Santa Lucia ranch in the municipality of Medellin de Bravo in Veracruz.
Vets have ruled out any natural known predator for the deaths of 18 sheep over because the bite marks were not consistent with those of a coyote, bat, dog, lynx or any other found in the region.
Since the first attack on December 25 2020, there have been other incidents on December 28, January 12, and February 21.
The mysterious circumstances behind the attacks led some locals to believe they were done by the mythical creature known as the undefinedChupacabraundefined (undefinedGoat Suckerundefined) that, according to legend, feeds on different animals but mostly livestock.
According to a report Translated from Spanish:
“The perpetrator of the attacks is believed to responsible for a whopping 18 sheep being killed over the course of its ongoing reign of terror. The owners of the ranch enlisted veterinarians to examine the downed animals in an attempt to determine what could have been behind the attacks. However, their analysis raised more questions than answers as they found that the bite marks did not correspond with any predator known to inhabit the region.undefined
The mysterious nature of the killings and the stealthy manner in which they have occurred have led workers on the farm to put forward a rather chilling suspect: the Chupacabra. Accounts of the notorious blood-sucking cryptid allegedly lurking in the region undoubtedly informed their opinion as did the expertsundefined inability to pin the slayings on any prosaic predator. The owner of the farm has now turned to local authorities for help in thwarting the attacks and workers at the ranch are on guard waiting for whatever is behind the killings to make its return so that they put an end to the ordeal.
The Chupacabra, a legendary creature in parts of the Americas, has experienced a resurgence in recent years. The name of this folkloric creature translates from Spanish to “goat-sucker” and has been purported to prey on livestock and pets for decades. News sources and landowner inquiries report seeing these creatures on a fairly regular basis. Some believe this is a supernatural creature, but others see the creature as a natural phenomenon.
The Chupacabra has been called the Bigfoot of Latino culture, an urban legend said to drain the blood of goats and other farm animals from South America to south Texas. It’s name is Spanish for “goat sucker.” And like Bigfoot, the Chupacabra also has eluded capture – or so they say – I have a different story to tell.
Back in when Ground Zero was in its infancy, I was trying to figure out just what kind of show I was presenting. At first, I was giving a critical view on a lot of conspiracy theory. However, I also realized that there were plenty of other stories that needed attention. These stories had to do with UFO cover ups, various mysteries, urban legends and stories about legendary beasts like Bigfoot.
In the beginning the show took on these subjects in a more comic book way. It was then I realized that the show was becoming story time –where I would deliver some of these reports in a way that was like Mister Rogers telling ghost stories in a graveyard.
Late night radio had some stiff competition and Art Bell was the king of late night. I was just a local kid who Art Bell knew because it was my radio station that was the first to broadcast Art on the internet.
We had a block of paranormal shows that ran on the weekends, Sightings with Jeff Rense, Paranet Continuum with the late Michael Corbin, Ground Zero, and the end the night we had Dreamland with Art Bell.
Each one of us had a story to tell but there was one story that I was able to break first and it was because I was fluent in Spanish.
It was a horrific story about how farmers in Puerto Rico were reporting that their animals were being stalked and killed by an apex predator. The animal was unlike anything they had seen before. It was a tiny dog like creature with gray skin, a raised ridge on its back, and large viscous teeth.
Now what most people do not know about the creature is that while it is listed as a cryptid or a mysterious creature, the Puerto Rican Department of Agriculture had reported early on that they captured and killed two of them.
I contacted the Agriculture Department’s Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and they reported to me that what they were looking at was something they described as a dog or a monkey.
I pressed them on what it was, and they were very reticent in giving me any more information on the subject. After I did a follow up call, the spokesperson said to me that whatever these creatures were that they were some sort of hybrid creature that may have escaped from a lab.
I dug through some Puerto Rican news articles and found the creature was called El Chupacabra.
A comedian came up with the name. Puerto Rican comedian Silverio Pérez coined the term “chupacabra” in 1995 while discussing the creature’s attacks. The Spanish word literally translates to “goat-sucker,” as in “chupa” (“to suck”) and “cabra” (“goat”). The name comes from the creature’s purported habit of sucking the blood of goats and other livestock.
It spun into an urban legend with different descriptions. The Chupacabra often is described as a hairless reptilian creature around 3 feet tall with gray-green skin and spines or quills down its back.
However, it wasn’t always described in this way.
I reported the story on my radio show – and soon it made the rounds. Linda Moulton Howe ran with the story and interviewed several eyewitnesses who spun tales of a creature that was gray, with scaly skin. It had quills on its back like a porcupine, wings and horns with glowing red eyes.
That was something that the Department of Agriculture left out of their report to me. I realized that either they lied to me, or that the creature story where people claimed the thing looked like a demon was a tall tale told by farmers.
This I believe is where the mystery of the Chupacabra began. I was so frustrated and obsessed with the creature for some time – I even wrote a goofy song about it. I called it a mutant winged chihuahua and with tongue pressed firmly in cheek decided to go along with the tale the farmers told. It was a great story, and I included many facts about the necropsies of the animals that were attacked by the creature.
The reports were gruesome accounts of animals that were ripped to shreds and drained of blood. Some of them appeared to have been bitten by a dog with a very large mouth. Many of the animals were found to have contracted hepatitis.
This according to authorities fit a pattern that were similar to attacks that they investigated in the 1970’s.
After the initial story of the Puerto Rican Chupacabra, there was a story out of Nicaragua where a farmer had shot and killed a Chupacabra. He described it as a malnourished dog with scaly pale gray skin.
He claimed that after he shot the creature, it started to decay rapidly. All that was left of the animal was skin that was clinging to the skeletal remains of the creature.
Again the same description – it was a canine of some kind , but not ordinary, nothing like a wolf or a fox.
We all know that news items escape the mainstream narrative because news organizations are politically fueled, and their bread and butter is often death tolls and which party is going to blink when it comes to aggressive strikes or military actions.
It is a worn-out narrative that simply does not matter when we are beginning to see that things are changing rapidly and that people continually have experiences that they cannot explain and the media tends to place in a margins or allows pseudo skeptics to ridicule.
All the ridicule and the tales of improbability regarding strange activity wear thin when people who are awake are seeing events happen in their neighborhoods that defy explanation.
The Chupacabra for some time had an identity crisis. The creature was either a dog or a monkey –some people believed that he was a Gargola or gargoyle type creature.
Police agencies from the southwest part of the island of Puerto Rico claimed that there was a menacing creature that was larger than what was first described. It was something large, with wings being seen by people of high credibility.
A local family reported the slaughter of their horses. At first the story was reported that that the horses were slaughtered by poachers for their meat. However a farmer and his daughter reported that the horses had puncture wounds the size of two fingers on one of their foals.
There were other witnesses that came forward saying that near the horse ranch a large winged creature was seen in the area and that one of the witnesses was so terrified that he made a three day retreat in order to pray in the local church. He called upon a priest to help him because he claimed that the creature looked very much like a demon from hell.
The Gargola has been seen on the Island ever since the times of the Taino Indians that inhabited the area in the 15th century. They were described as grotesque creatures that had the face of a dog or a wolf, with large leathery wings and horns.
In fact, there are many people that believe that the concept of a smaller version of the creature El Chupacabra came from the early stories of the Gargola.
There are also cryptozoologists that have said that these creatures could be attributed to the fact that Puerto Rico itself intersects with the mysterious Bermuda Triangle.
In the early 2000s, a different Chupacabra arrived on the scene. This one shared some of the traits of earlier sightings but was a little less alien. This time it was described as a hairless, dog-like animal walking on four legs.
Some say it had a tail like a kangaroo.
In June of 2012, a policeman in the City of Carolina was attacked by a Chupacabra – he claimed he shot at it and it leaped in the air and got away.
Another witness of the creature claimed that it observed a Chupacabra sitting on a fence. The fence was above a chicken coop. The creature sat there for some time and the witness was able to snap a photo of the little beast.
Not surprisingly the creature looked like a dog.
The original Chupacabra had spikes on its back, big eyes, and wings then over the years the idea of what it was became bigger and bigger.
Now it seems to be more pragmatic where any mangy dog can be called a Chupacabra.
People go on Google and search ‘mysterious animal attacking things’. It’s self-perpetuating.
But what about those initial sightings? The demonoid blood feeder with the red eyes and the leather wings – flying from coop to coop attacking chickens and feeding on the blood of goats?
Many people can dismiss it as myth but recent sightings again speak of the demonic looking creature crawling out of wells and crawl spaces.
They are now being reported as far north as Russia and as far south as the Philippines.
It goes to show, you can do all the rigorous analysis you want, all the investigation, all the science. At the end of the day, there are still those creatures that seem to crawl out of the deep bowels of the abyss and fly over your head watching for the moment to strike.
The Chupacabra has taken on many identities but what is most certain is that the creature may be the very demon of the abyss that has been spoken of for centuries.
