Yesterday, it was announced that Donald Trump was being indicted by a Manhattan Grand Jury. No doubt, this move is raw political prosecution against the former president. It appears he is being used as a convenient scapegoat to normalize the idea of criminal persecution of political opponents. Trump could very well win on appeal but the damage, which carries national repercussions, might already have been done. We need to ask ourselves if this legal maneuver will help heal our nation or will it create greater division. Tonight on Ground Zero, Clyde Lewis talks about OUR NATIONAL DIVORCE.

Yesterday, just after I had wrapped up preparation for the show it was announced that former-President Donald Trump was being indicted by the Manhattan Grand Jury.
Donald Trump is now the first former President of the United States ever to be indicted. There is no coming back from this moment.
He is not the only president to be arrested and what is embarrassing is the last President to be arrested was President Grant for a speeding ticket.
William West, a former enslaved person, joined the Metropolitan Police in the nationundefineds capital after fighting in the Civil War, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund. In 1872, West was on the lookout for speeding horse-drawn carriages near Washingtonundefineds 13th and M streets when he jumped in front of a carriage racing towards him.
West quickly realized he had pulled over President Grant, and issued a warning. But the very next day, West caught the president speeding again and brought him in.
That made West the first, and only, law enforcement officer to arrest a sitting president.
Grant was released on a $20 bond, which equates to just under $500 in 2023. He didnundefinedt contest the fine or arrest and expressed respect for Westundefineds decision to arrest him.
This indictment of Trump is a historic moment, but what will not be reported is that this is a dark moment in history. no matter what your political affiliation and no matter what hate you have saved in your head for the man.
Believe me, many Americans, mostly liberal Americans have space rented out in their heads to seethe whenever the name Trump is uttered.
This is why the hate is going to blind us to what can be a learning moment with a glance at a bigger picture.
No doubt this move to indict Trump is political. It is a raw political prosecution. These types of actions are usually seen in Central American and South American regimes and not here in the US.
The indictment may or may not announce a crime he allegedly committed that we may not even know about.
Unknown sources of course were eager to tell CNN that Trump could face up to 30 counts of business fraud.
Earlier Thursday, a spokesperson for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said the office has contacted Trumpundefineds attorney to undefinedcoordinate his surrenderundefined for arraignment on undefineda Supreme Court indictment, which remains under seal.undefined

Trump will likely appear in court early next week, his defense attorney said.
Today, I read that he faces possible 30 counts of fraud.
The 30-plus charges of fraud are the wet dream of the liberal media undefined it would be very surprising if the full 30 were charged but the way this is going undefined if anything can be pushed just to the edge of illegality it will be.
In some circles, it is said that it already has- no one is above the law we are told - and yet the laws are stretched for convenience.
All that we do know is that this indictment is about the Stormy Daniels hush money scandal.
The idea that you can take a misdemeanor charge under New York law that has expired with a two-year statute of limitations and revive it by connecting it to federal crime undefined a federal election violation is in and of itself a violation of law.
Hush money, in itself, is not technically illegal, but if it could be established that campaign funds were used to make the payment, and Trump knew about it, it would be a felony campaign finance violation.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign was found guilty of the same crime over their commissioning the Steel Dossier. No arrests were made, no undefinedlock her up lock her upundefined just a fine…and their purpose was to spread misinformation to swing an election.
She also has covered up war crimes on her watch. Seven days after Obama accepted the Nobel Prize for Peace he slaughtered dozens of women and children in Yemen.
The Pentagon used cruise missiles packed with cluster bombs in a civilian area to kill *one* militant. They missed him but got the civilians.
Obama, with the aid of the Pentagon and Yemen officials, created a cover-up. Yemen was bribed with more weaponry, the Pentagon kept Obama’s secret and the Yemen leaders told their parliament that the slaughter was done by Yemen forces. Obama at first claimed to have been going after a member of the militant Islamist group al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula.
But there was a problem with that. The AQAP was not an officially designated terrorist organization.
This is where Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton comes in. By federal law, a law is not legal or official until it is published in the Federal Registry. That is the law. Publishing fraudulent documents is a crime. Doing it in an attempt to cover up a war crime multiplies the seriousness. Hillary published the AQAP designation nearly a month after Obama had slaughtered the women and children but she backdated the memo she published to three days before the cluster bombs reached their target.
There are plenty of other names that could be rounded up and used as political scapegoats, George W. Bush in addition to Obama comes to mind and all of their crimes would most certainly be the equivalent of what Vladimir Putin is being Charged with undefined but these are continually swept under the rug.
The question is why?

Portraying the two-party duopoly through the lens of its extremist wings is misleading. This error more generally leads people to see the two major parties as more significantly different than they are, when, in fact, there is little daylight between a lot of the politicians because what it boils down to is how they can remove those who wish to be a thorn in the side of the globalists.
However, the task of convincing Americans of this is difficult when they are looking for an excuse for a National divorce. This would mean a one size-fits all one-party system.
This is what the neoliberals want, this is what the neocons want.
The people will have to deal with it undefined and there is certainly a hope for rebellion to harden the resolve of police state rule.
The liberal media/democrat/Twitter crowd tells us constantly that they are convinced that Donald Trump is a dangerous-quasi dictator who attempted a coup on January 6th and that he should be punished and persecuted for any possible crime in any conceivable way to ensure he never comes anywhere near political power ever again.
That alone is election tampering. Arresting someone for, pardon the expression, Trumped up charges to keep him away from the election and possible presidency.
The rightwing crowd has been saying for a long time that s that President Biden’s administration – and the political establishment in general – is conducting a witch hunt against Trump to either prevent his running for President in 2024 or discredit him with the electorate that he cannot win.
Incredibly, this is even happening in the United States. As I have said before it is one more indication the United States government has turned itself into a Shakespearean play where the Ides of March came a bit late and that Michael Cohen is Brutus to Donald Trumps Caesar and we are waiting to see how many knives will go into his back during this whole ordeal,

As Trump has said This is an attack on Americans, it is just that he is in the way.

This appears to be an ongoing saga that never sees an ending.

After all, as long as we’re busy fighting each other, we’ll never manage to present a unified front against tyranny in any form.

The facts speak for themselves. The actions of those conducting the witch hunts and demanding an American divorce are guilty of trying to create a one-party system.
The real problems continue to persist. The real policies endangering ordinary people – and pushed by Republicans and Democrats alike – will continue to spread. A prison being built up around us.
The reason why Trump was indicted is that they need to show us that they are champions of democracy, running the country like mob families and eliminating those who thwart their criminal activity.
They eat their own -and we are being guided by example. We witnessing not only a divorce but a buffet of Americans eating each other undefined willing to be violent over some fragmented cause, when the real enemy is the group that continues to abuse their positions of power.
It is as if everyone who is sinning is ready to cast the first stone just as long as they are not found out.

This is a patently political prosecution. Bragg and NY AG James ran on bagging Trump. This has fulfilled that pledge but, if the indictment follows the course described in coverage, it is deeply flawed theory. We will have to wait to see the indictment. undefinedThe objection is not to the prosecuting of a misdemeanor but the reported effort to extend the statute of limitations under an unprecedented bootstrapping theory. We have not heard of an alternative criminal theory.
The bottom line, what is happening here is illegitimate and political, I wouldnundefinedt be surprised if the trial date is set for the first half of 2024.
For those of you who are Trump supporters do not underestimate the danger to Trump. He now has an even bigger target on his back.
There are no guarantees to his safety now- the seeds have been planted for an overreaction to what is happening now.
He could face a jury of Biden voters Biden won Manhattan 86.7% to 12.3% according to the New York Times.
The jury of Trump’s peers will be friendly to the prosecution. That’s all the Manhattan DA might need to secure a conviction. Trump could very well win on appeal but the damage - which carries national repercussions - might already have been done.
That is by design.
